Ex-England star Lineker mocks Mikel

No comments :
Former England international and respected football pundit Gary Lineker took to Twitter on Wednesday evening to discuss John Obi Mikel's first ever goal in the Uefa Champions League.

Mikel scored in unspectacular fashion at Stamford Bridge - bundling home Cesc Fabregas’s free kick from close range - and Lineker was quick to voice his thoughts.

“You know you're in an easy group when John Obi Mikel scores,” Lineker wrote via @GaryLineker.
That tweet was retweeted over 3 000 times and favourited over 2 500 times.
Unsurprisingly, Twitter, and not just Lineker, went into overdrive on Wednesday night following Mikel’s goal against Sporting Lisbon.

Dan Levene jokingly described Mikel as a “goal machine” in a painfully ironic tweet.
“John Mikel Obi: five goals in eight and a half years at Chelsea. #goalmachine,” he tweeted via @BluesChronicle.

“Africa Facts Zone” decided to look at the development from a completely different perspective.
“John Mikel Obi has more trophies to his name (10) than goals (9),” it wrote via @AfricaFactsZone.
For Adil AR Ibrahim, Mikel’s goal was more of an accident.

“I repeat, a ball has hit John Mikel Obi and went in goal. What is life??? Cue the apocalypse,” he wrote via @AdilARAbrahim.
